Nordmeyer Treasure 2

The girls took a little longer than it took Tim. The hint refers to a hobby of ours (geocaching). They often put hints on the website and encode them with a crypto-code. When decoded, it reads: "To find your next clue, you must eat at the Flying Fish." The Flying Fish is one of our favorite restaurants in NC. I had discussed the treasure hunt with the owner and he thought it sounded like fun, so he helped me doctor up one of the pages of his menu, so the girls could get special menus. Here they are:

Do you see the clue? I outlined it in red in the enlarged pictures.

If the girls did it wrong, they could wind up mini-golfing or go-karting and searching all over for the clue. But they figured it out correctly. When the two menus are held together, the clues line up and read "Your next clue location is not mini-golf. Outlets sound good. Skip go-karts. Railing near Stone Oven." This refers to the outlet mall we like to go to in NC. They have a restaurant called "Stone Oven", and next to it is a boardwalk area that overlooks the sound. The clue is along the railing. The tricky part is that I just found out that Stone Oven closed. Here is how they handled it...
